Carolyn Feibel

Carolyn reports, blogs, twitters, and occasionally podcasts from the City Hall bureau of the Houston Chronicle. She focuses on digital investigative reporting and writing for the web for Webbmedia Group clients.

She previously worked for two New Jersey papers, The (Bergen) Record and the Herald News, and the Associated Press. Her reporting, particularly her investigations of mental healthcare law and disability issues, have garnered state and national awards. Feibel earned her M.S. in journalism from Columbia University in 2001, and her B.A. from Cornell University in 1995. She spent a year doing anthropological fieldwork in India before becoming a journalist. She has taught media courses at Farleigh Dickinson University and William Paterson University in New Jersey. Media appearances include the Greta Van Susteren Show, WNYC (New York City's NPR station), and local television in New Jersey. Her freelance work has appeared in the New York Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, The Forward and Lilith.
